My reaction 1 - night of, jazzy jeff incident after i got home from djing

My reaction 1 - jazzy jeff / djing in kc / ztrip The Fader interview response

update :::
HIGH VOLUME : FALSE
Some people involved in the event supposedly sat that “high Volume” and pushing the sound too loud was to blame and not the music.. my response is this (as posted on the pitch website comments).Bottom line, limiters should have fixed any possiblity of the speakers being blown. IN fact, I just learned a friend of mine was involved closely with setting up the sound system and confirmed red-lining wouldnt have ever damaged the speakers.
Contract specifics:
Can the contractual obligation be made public? If the proprietors of the event want the truth to come out, than that may help clarify things if that is in fact the issue and not what is claimed by Jeff or public perception.
ps- the only thing in P&L I will vouch for is the movie theater, its fresh, food in hand.

DJ DAY + Miles Bonny

Upon meeting a fellow Kansan tonight here in North Carolina, I was telling him how much I loved both the city (Kansas City) and state. Upon reading my Twitter updates from Jazzy Jeff and Miles Bonny, I wish I could take back those sentiments. As an outsider and removed participant in KC music culture, I originally thought that Miles Bonny was somehow tied-in to this event, in which case, everything would have gone smoothly and in accordance with the spirit of not only Jazzy Jeff’s legacy and professional career as a dj/entertainer; but with hip hop and music in general. Sadly, it seems that somebody with not one iota of cultural acumen took it into his his own hands to humiliate a hip hop icon and ruin whatever future chances that Kansas City might ever have to catch an extraordinary act like DJ Jazzy Jeff rock a venue. This is both embarrassing to the KC music community and an insult to the integrity of music in general. On behalf of everyone everywhere, I, we apologize to you, Jeff Townes. Miles Bonny would have treated you, embraced you and promoted you well. Hip hop lives. Even in KC.
Love it! Glad to see everyone reporting real news in Kansas City. I hope that this issue just doesn’t fall into closed ears!!! Thankx!
On the bright side, that’s awesome that we almost got Jeff to come to Firefly according to the KC Star article. So close
Mocha Jones:
Question:
If Jazzy was not following the request of the managment by not turning down his music to a point where it blew speakers, drivers,whatever. Plus his hype man “mislead” the crowd by stating they didn’t want Jazzy to play hip-hop. Which will create more bad publicity on the Cordish Company. Why in the hell are they trying to talk to Jazzy’s managment team to get him back to Kansas City? Now this is what the Cordish spokesperson said what they were trying to do.
That’s confusing….This man “damaged” your expensive system, he caused all this “rukus” If all this is true why invite him back? What do they have to prove by doing that if the company is not at fault?
Your not going to inivte a person back to your home if they damage it, disrepect it and tell the neighbors all these “lies” about it….Right? I’m just saying!
well said// necia and i agre (she read it with me)
