They say imitation is the best form of flattery. I don’t exactly know where that saying started but whoever coined it should add the addendum if done right. Sometimes imitation can go horribly wrong which as of a few days ago the interwebs witnessed just that according to some people and don’t pretend you don’t know what I’m talking about. But I digress. When an artist can take an already established piece of work and expand on it or make it their own, it can be a good thing. Reggie B followed this formula and the end result was damn good. Flippin’ the classic Jimi Hendrix track ‘You Got Me Floatin’ and infusing it with his own funk and soulful delivery Reggie B shines on his contemporary and pays homage and respect to the original. As I listen to it while writing this I’m trying to contain the urge to jump up and dance in my seat. It’s just that bad ass! You need this in your life! – BamaLovesSoul
